Songs

Concerning my hobbies, i am very picky. There are only a few things that interest me as hobbies, and music is one of them. I used to tell myself that i only like classical music, but recently i found out that is not the case. I realised that except for a select few classical songs, i don't really enjoy it, generally, especially music by Bach from the Baroque Period. But enough about annoying things like Bach. Then a while back, i played Need For Speed, and then started to like those heavily rapping, nonsensical, shouting-match sort of songs. I was quite shocked at myself for that for a while.

But then, after some thinking, i came to realise that the songs i like is mainly affected by memories. Like the Need For Speed music. I now know that i came to enjoy it, because i had a lot of fun playing the game with my brother, and good memories are associated with it. Then gradually i remembered that my list of 'songs of appreciation'' only ever widens after i had a particular nice event associated with the tune.

However, there are some songs that i instinctively liked, at once. The best example is Pachabel's Canon in D. The first time i heard it, i fell in love with that song. Another one in Clair de Lune. And, much to my Singaporean friend's chagrin, i liked Who Let The Dogs Out a lot. So maybe its a combination of both. I think maybe the song already is very appreciable, its just that i need something to make me start appreciating it. I'm just that sort of sentimental person, haha.

Current Mood: Feeling a bit nostalgic
